About the Governance Committee
Welcome to our first digital newsletter, providing you insights to topical pension matters and specifically our Scottish Widows Group Pension Plan. As a committee, we have been especially focused on the review of our scheme default fund and this project remains ongoing whilst we explore our options and consider the future changes EdenTree are planning for our current default strategy – you can find more about this on the ‘Investments’ section.
We continue to monitor our provider, Scottish Widows, and the enhancements they are making to improve their service standards in order to deliver quality service to our members. We are pleased to see that they have continued to grow their teams to support increased demand from customers, extended their telephony operating hours and continue to invest in their technology to help you to transact with them digitally.
Ecclesiastical Pension Governance Committee
The Role of the Committee
The Committee has a responsibility to undertake robust governance and to ensure that the scheme remains compliant with the ever-changing pensions legislation, including auto-enrolment and pension freedoms. It is also important that best practice is observed and this is evidenced to our members.
Roles & Responsibilities
We have formalised our governance process by creating a ‘Roles and Responsibilities’ document that outlines both this and the roles of the Committee members. If you would like a copy of this please contact the HR department.
